- Create and update the wine list, in coordination with the Chef
- Recommend food and wine pairings
- Inform customers about the different varieties and prices of wine and advise them according to their personal taste and the dish they have chosen
- Support the team in preparing for service
- Manage and control beverage stocks
- Comply with defined procedures, policies and standards
- Ensure the satisfaction of all customers and contribute to their loyalty
Profile
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Sommelier or in dining room service roles with a strong focus on wines, preferably in haute cuisine restaurants or 5-star hotels.
- Good knowledge of wines (national and international), spirits, beers and other beverages, with a constant desire to learn and deepen your knowledge.
- Passion for advising and serving customers, with attention to detail and the ability to suggest pairings that complement the dining experience.
- Ability to assist in cellar management, wine reception and organisation, and basic stock control under the guidance of the Head Sommelier.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with the team (kitchen and dining room) and with customers, translating the world of wine in an accessible and captivating way.
- Willingness to learn, proactivity and initiative to support all operations in the wine section.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (mandatory). Knowledge of other languages (French, Spanish) is an asset
- Training as a Sommelier (e.g. WSET, Sommelier Portugal) or similar area is valued, but the most important thing is passion and dedication
- Well-groomed and professional appearance, appropriate to the environment of our restaurant.
- Ability to adapt to flexible working hours
